Dear ORNAC Members,

It is an incredible honour to serve as the new President of ORNAC. I am excited to begin this journey alongside such passionate, skilled, and dedicated perioperative nurses from across Canada.

Perioperative nursing continues to evolve rapidly, and ORNAC plays an essential role in supporting excellence in patient care, advancing our profession, and strengthening the voice of perioperative nurses nationally. As President, I am deeply committed to building on the strong foundation established by those who came before us while continuing to move our organization forward together.

One of my greatest priorities is growing and strengthening our membership. Our profession is stronger when perioperative nurses feel connected, supported, and engaged. I look forward to creating meaningful opportunities for members at every stage of their careers to become involved, share their expertise, and help shape the future of perioperative nursing in Canada.

I am also passionate about promoting and advancing the ORNAC Guidelines, which remain a cornerstone of safe, evidence-informed perioperative practice. These guidelines reflect the expertise and dedication of perioperative professionals across the country and are critical to ensuring excellence in surgical patient care.

Collaboration will continue to be central to our success. I am excited to further engage with our provincial groups, partners, and members across Canada. By strengthening these relationships, we can better understand the unique needs and challenges within our regions while working together toward shared goals for perioperative nursing.

Most importantly, I want our members to know that your voices matter. ORNAC can only continue to grow and improve through open communication, collaboration, and member feedback. I am committed to listening, learning, and working alongside you to ensure our organization remains responsive, inclusive, innovative, and member focused.

I look forward to the opportunities ahead and to connecting with many of you over the my term. Together, we will continue to strengthen ORNAC, support one another, and advance excellence in perioperative nursing across Canada.
